It is always a plus when you notice certain things your lawn is lacking. That means you are very observant and ready to take action. Before you water your lawn there are a few things to keep in mind. Those key things are, Time of day, how hot it is, and how much should be given when watering.

First, being the time of day. When you notice your lawn needing watering is important, but it might not be the right time to water. If it is night time we shouldn't be watering. By watering late at night we can cause pest and mold to make it's way in causing damage instead of helping our lawns. Reason being is that the water we give will sit versus being used. Pest as well as disease thrive in these type of environments. Pest will start eating away at foliage and roots causing stress and in some cases the dying off of areas on your lawn(Brown Spots). Mold will do the same by causing discoloration and also spreading in those unwanted areas you have grown to be proud of. It is best to water between the hours of 6am-10am. This will ensure that it's not too hot and your lawn is able to utilize what you've given.

That moves us to the second point, Making sure it's not to hot when watering your lawn. By watering in the hottest part of the day which is usually between 11am-3pm can cause unneeded stress. This will make your lawn work to hard to drink it up. This too can cause damage by leaving discoloration throughout you beautiful lawn. None of us want to work hard in helping our lawn to become that beautiful green only to see it fade away by something we could have avoided.

Last but not least, The amount of water you give can play a big role in either your lawn staying healthy or the decline of it(Not Healthy). Our lawns usually only needs an inch of water per week. This can come from you watering it or just plain rain water on those rainy days. Overwatering your lawn can cause the roots to not have enough oxygen. Without that much needed oxygen they require, it will cause pest at the roots as well as above the soil. With a lack of oxygen and pest being present will cause your grass to die off. No one wants that. We want to promote good growth as much as we can and good health which will give us the lawn we truly desire. By keeping these steps in mind you will be able to aid your lawn in a healthy and productive season which will keep you and your neighbors smiling.
