"Before You Plant That Bush"

( Picture provided by: Walmart.com )

Before you decide to plant those awesome bushes, think about this first. How big will they get, and where shall I place them. These two things can be looked at as the basics before planting, for a wide variety of plants and bushes. The reason they are crucial in bush placement is for various reasons. Not considering them can bring in problems, and concerns later in their growth. Lets say for instance you want to plant bushes directly in front of your homes foundation. We often tend to forget that bushes get much bigger than when we bought them. Some bushes have big root zones that could possibly damage your houses foundation by cracking, breaking, or even pushing the foundation back searching for room to stabilize itself. A lot of them also grow wide in width as well as can get taller than your home. By them getting taller they can block your windows view not allowing you to enjoy the sun inside your home. Sometimes, bushes can get tall and cause damage to your roof as well. In them becoming wide they can uproot or damage any other plants you have in close distance to them also. Knowing how large they will grow to be will help you gauge where to place them and how far apart they should be to any existing plants, bushes already in place, or the new ones you will be planting at the same time. The last thing you want is in a years time or more is to find out that they have destroyed the vision you had for the layout of your lawn. In no way am I saying, " Don't plant them ". Bushes can be a great add on to your lawn making it stand out while beautifying your landscape. Bushes have different jobs they can be used for, so by all means use them for the purpose you have in mind. Knowing the outcome of what you want as well as if they are able to fulfill your needs before hand can help in keeping your vision dialed in for now and years to come. " Happy Planting ".
